The European CROSSFIT project has entered a new phase, focused on implementing One Stop Shops and developing the first public building energy renovation projects. Progress to date and the next steps were reviewed during a consortium meeting held in Porto.
On 29 and 30 September, RdA Climate Solutions hosted the CROSSFIT consortium meeting in Porto, bringing together partners from Portugal, Belgium, Greece and Spain to review the work carried out and define the next steps.
Funded by the European Union’s LIFE Programme, CROSSFIT aims to accelerate the energy renovation of public buildings through One Stop Shops (OSS). These structures will support public authorities in preparing and aggregating projects, as well as in procurement, financing and implementation of energy efficiency measures.
With the first phase completed, focused on assessing the existing conditions in each pilot country, CROSSFIT is now moving into a more operational stage. The consortium assessed gaps related to institutional frameworks, human resources, available building data, public procurement and potential business models. Based on the results, specific roadmaps were developed for each territory.
In Portugal, RdA Climate Solutions is structuring the national model, identifying building portfolios and preparing solutions to aggregate interventions, increase project scale and create the conditions for implementation.
The meeting in Porto also provided an opportunity to share progress from the other European pilots, including the development of a virtual OSS structure in Greece, the expansion of L’Energètica’s role in Catalonia and, in Flanders, the preparation of a financing solution aimed at scaling up investment in energy efficiency.
In the next phase, CROSSFIT will consolidate the institutional models, launch the first procurement procedures for aggregated projects and identify the most appropriate financing solutions. The experience gained from the different pilots will then be used to support other European public authorities in accelerating their building renovation programmes.
The CROSSFIT project is co-funded by the European Union through the LIFE Programme under Grant Agreement No. 101167708.
